| What is your success rate? |
Thousands of happy couples have
already met through Drawing Down the Moon. "Word of Mouth" is our best advertising source - we couldn't have successfully stayed in business for over twenty three years without getting results. 75% of our new joiners come as a result of a recommendation. |
| |
|
| |
Not all our members tell us when they've met someone. Maybe they don't want to 'tempt providence' - so it's sometimes only years later that we find out - often from a friend who they've recommended to us. |
| |
|
|
A good measure of our success is the % of members whose membership is 'On Hold'. At this time of writing 46% of our members are 'On Hold'. Not all are 'seeing someone' - some are taking a couple of months off to go travelling or whatever - however a substantial proportion of our 'On Holds' are potential success stories. |
| |
|
| |
We are more than happy to show you letters from happy former members when you visit our offices. |
|
| How many members do you have? |
We have around 1300 current members, all of whom are prepared to meet and date in the London area. To keep this level up without lowering our standards involves substantial advertising in quality papers such as the Times, Guardian, Time Out and the Internet. |
| |
Quantity of membership is important as well as quality. Beware agencies that quote national figures, include members that have lapsed or dismiss quantity of members in your area as 'not important'. |
|
| Why should I trust DDM consultants to match me? |
Our consultants using their experience and intuition are a fantastic resource to have at your disposal. They have first-hand knowledge of other members based on interviews and face-face conversations |
| |
|
| |
At Drawing Down the Moon every member is interviewed in depth before joining - and the people who do the interviewing do the matching. This isn't the case with many larger agencies. Some agencies use sales people to impress you and leave the important work to others. |
|
| What do you mean by 'Selections'? |
Simple. You ring us up, arrange a
time to come in and browse through our files of profiles and photographs
then tell us which member(s) you would like us to send your details. This
feature is available on the higher membership levels - see the Fees Grid for what each membeship entails |
|
| |
|
| |
You can then repeat this process. These selections are in addition to the 'Guaranteed Telephone Introductions' that are arranged by our Consultants. We know of no other agency that offers its members this potential. |
|
| What do you mean by 'Guaranteed Telephone Introductions'? |
Shortly after joining and when you tell us you're ready we will arrange your first introduction carefully selected for you by one of our senior consultants. You will be sent a letter giving details of the member we have selected for you and they will receive a letter or email with your details. You can then telephone each other to explore the possibility of meeting. |
| |
|
| |
Subsequently, as and when you
require more introductions, you simply phone us - or request a match via
our Members' Intranet and we will arrange them. |
| |
|
| |
Our guarantee means that, should you request it, you will actually speak on the phone to the number of people specified. This is a guaranteed minimum. Alternatively, many members meet their future partner within the first few introductions and so never need to receive all their guaranteed introductions. |
|
| What specifically will your consultants do for me? |
Once you ask them to make a selection on your behalf this involves a substantial amount of behind the scenes work. This includes combing through our files of profiles, searching our database and talking with colleagues. |
| |
|
| |
Each consultant's selection is genuinely hand-picked based on our detailed knowledge of members. |
| |
|
| |
You can also arrange to visit our offices for progress reviews with a consultant. During this you can discuss previous matches as well as look through the files of photos and profiles and top up your guidelist. |
| |
|
| |
We only use skilled consultants who take an interest in you throughout your membership. |
|
| Are your members my sort of people? |
The only way you can judge this is to visit us. |
| |
| What about confidentiality? |
Firstly, the profiles to which non-staff have access do not have traceable details (address, phone number, etc.). |
| |
|
| |
Secondly, only people who have signed a binding confidentiality contract are allowed access to our files. |
| |
|
| |
In addition we also have special 'Confidential' members whose profiles are not included in the files. Since 1984 we've been trusted by 1000s - including many 'in the public eye'' |
|
| Why is free 'On Hold' time important? |
Our 'On Hold' facility means that you can suspend your membership without cost when you are exploring a potential relationship or are busy. |
| |
Our years of experience lead us to believe this is both the most effective and fairest way to operate - most members value time on 'Hold'. Some agencies promote a lower signing-on fee but continue to charge members for time when they are unable to use their service. |
| |
|
| |
We want you to make the most of your membership. |
|
| I've heard you're very selective - what does this mean? |
We are indeed a selective agency |
| |
|
| |
Every week we receive a high volume of phone calls from people enquiring about agency membership. However, we only offer membership to those for whom we feel we have a good chance of achieving success. |
| |
|
| |
Drawing Down the Moon's niche is the educational background of our members. 95% of our members are graduates. You do not have to be a graduate to join us - many interesting, 'thinking' people are from 'the school of life'. However, you do have to be comfortable with the fact that nearly everyone you are going to meet is a graduate. |
| |
|
| |
The advantage of this strategy for our members is compelling: they are part of a large pool of compatible people. |
|
| Why can't your memberships cost less? |
It isn't possible to offer the services of an introduction service that is genuinely both selective and personal cheaply. Advertising and staff are large costs. |
| |
|
| |
You need to employ skilled and experienced consultants and allow them to invest considerable amounts of time in dealing with members on an individual basis. |
| |
|
| |
You also need to spend substantial amounts of advertising in the quality press and the internet to attract lots of new joiners to replace those that have been successfully matched. |
