Glaukius was smitten with love for the fair Chrysis who unfortunately did not return the sentiment.

This caused Glaukius to fall ill and the services of a magician were sought. He decided to 'Draw down the moon' a never failing charm, Hectate the Goddess of magic was invoked and lo, down came the moon.

The magician made a figure of clay, which he sent to collect Chrysis. Soon after she rushed to the house of Glaukius and they were united in the fires of love.
